The sq. tube axle is cold rolled steel to take advantage of the smooth and clean surface The cross slide has brass inserts which allow for smooth operation and adjustment. The handle helps in fin tuning the position of the cross slide. A locking hand screw secures the slide to the axle for normal ground handling and transport.
